Small-batch · Roasted on Thursdays

Coffee that tastes like where it grew up.

We buy a few sacks at a time from farms we can name, roast them gently in a shed by the river, and post them the next morning.

Kestrel & Fen COFFEE ROASTERS 250 G · WHOLE BEAN
This week on the roaster

Three coffees. Nothing we wouldn’t drink ourselves.

The line-up changes as the harvests do. When a coffee is gone, it’s gone, and we’ll tell you what to try next.

Ethiopia · Guji · Washed

Morning Heron

Bergamot, peach tea and a clean honeyed finish. Bright without being sharp.

£11.50 / 250 g
Colombia · Huila · Natural

Green Ledger

Dark cherry, cocoa nib and a long, syrupy body. Brilliant as a flat white.

£10.80 / 250 g
Rwanda · Nyamasheke · Honey

Fen Lantern

Blackcurrant, brown sugar and a little black pepper at the edges. Our oddball favourite.

£12.20 / 250 g
Our story

A shed, a second-hand roaster and a stubborn idea.

Kestrel & Fen started in 2019 with a 5 kg drum roaster, a leaking roof and the belief that good coffee shouldn’t need a lecture.

We still roast in small batches, we still taste every one, and we still write the farm’s name on the bag, because the people who grew it deserve the credit.

  1. 2019 — The shedFirst roast on a rainy Thursday. It was, frankly, a bit burnt.
  2. 2021 — Direct tradeOur first relationship with a single farm cooperative in Huila.
  3. 2023 — Compostable everythingBags, labels, tape. The bin lorry stopped looking at us funny.
  4. Today — Nine farmsStill small, still Thursday, still slightly too fond of the roaster.
